What is a welfare unit?

Why would anyone hire one? These are good questions!

If we take a closer look at our lovely new welfare units it should answer these questions for you… A welfare unit is a portable cabin that can be put almost anywhere. It’s a good idea to put it on a flat piece of land as no-one wants their tea spilling because it’s on a slope! These cabins are designed to be as compact as possible, so they don’t take up much of a footprint on site. They are towed in place when we deliver to you, so you don’t have to do anything other than find a suitable place on site.

What’s inside?

When you enter the cabin through the secure, lockable door you find yourself in a warm, dry kitchen space. On one side there is a kitchen counter top, which has a microwave and kettle ready for heating lunches and making a welcome cup of tea. There’s a small sink area with hot running water for washing up and washing hands. When you’ve been working outside it’s lovely to have a warm, dry, kitchen available to have a hot drink and a break.

The seating in the kitchen area is a U shaped bench seat around a table. This can be used as a break area, or an office area to hold meetings or have somewhere to manage office work. This space has handy charging points for phones and blown air heating, and storage under the bench seats.

Anyone that works outside will already see why a welfare unit is a great idea. An instant answer for all your worker’s needs!

More Facilities

At the other end of the unit there is a chemical toilet complete with hand washing facilities (not just sanitiser). There’s also a drying room for wet coats with the generator, which will ensure the kettle will always work wherever you have put the unit!

Now you understand what you get when you hire a welfare cabin, it’s easy to see why they’re so useful. Perfect for keeping a building site going even through the worst of the weather. If you’d like to talk to us about our welfare units please get in touch, we’ll be happy to help.
